Curriculum of English for secondary classes : Secondary and senior secondary levels consist of classes IX, X, XI and XII. At this stage, more emphasis is given to linguistic and literature alongwith the four basic abilities of hearing, speaking, writing and reading. The curriculum for this level may be given below.

Class IX-XII

(i) Prose and poetry texts, oral and written work based on texts, reading, spelling, pronunciation and grammar.
(ii) Rapid reader, oral and written work based on it and silent reading.
(iii) Oral and written composition. 
(iv) Translation and unseen.
