Pupils having speech defects have trouble in producing speech sounds, using spoken language to communicate or understanding what teacher say. Speech problem is the sign of a learning inability. It is essential to identify speech and language problem. Following suggestions can be given -

1. Start talking to pupil.

2. Play games with the pupil.

3. Listen to your pupil. Look at them when he talks to you. Give time to respond.

4. Do not try to force to speak.

5. Read books alowd. Ask a librarian for books.

6. Talk a lot.

7. Plan family trips and outings.

8. Look at photos and talk about them.

9. Answering at every time.

10. Ask your pupils a lot of questions.

11. Do not criticize.

12. Play with them one-an-one.

13. Talk in a slow, relaxed way.

14. Take turns speaking in the family e.g. at dinner time.

15. Slow the pace of life in the house, especially conversations.
