English is not a national language of the Indians. English is a foreign language. Some more complexities which appear at the time of learning are the need of a very good teacher as well as a good communication and understanding skill.

English speaking skill is important as -

1. For Higher Studies in a Foreign Country - If a person choose an interview for your child, particularly for an English medium school a bit less educated candidate can win the challenge due to ease in English. Ability to read and speak appropriately is significant for higher studies in foreign. It is also required for high posts. In the present time the matter is about conversational English, it is as important as the capability to read and write appropriately.

2. International Language - English is an international language which serves as lingua franca. It is spoken, learnt and understood even those countries where it is not a native language. English conversation is important in some sectors e.g. medicine, engineering, business, technology etc. Software development provide communication facilities, through internet, access to websites is carried out in English. Most of R and D works are also conducted in English. Thus English conversation is taught around the world's schools as a second language.
