Uses of Radio in Teaching of English :- Radio has proved very useful in presenting a comprehensive course in language teaching. It can teach all kinds of listeners in all kinds of places. The radio is not hampered by the non-availability of teachers and class-rooms. It is cheap in comparison with modern mechanical aids of teaching. It brings the ideas of realism and breaks the monotony in a lesson on any descriptive topic of language. While using radio in teaching, following points should be kept in mind:–

(i) The broadcast should be organised in the room pertaining to the subject of broadcast.

(ii) There should be complete silence in the class at the time of broadcast.

(iii) After the broadcast, students should discuss the related lesson.

(iv) The teacher should compile the available literature on the subject of education lessons of the radio.

(v) On the basis of compiled knowledge, the teacher should make careful plan as to make the students listen to the broadcast with reference to his teaching.

(vi) The teacher should stimulate the students to listen to the radio broadcast with interest and care.
