बी.एड. सेमेस्टर-1 प्रश्नपत्र-IV-C - जेण्डर, स्कूल एण्ड सोसाइटी (अंग्रेजी भाषाा में)
Question- Describe the types of empowerments.
Answer -
Social Empowerment
Social empowerment means removing all inequalities, inequalities and other problems provided by the society and ensuring easy access to basic minimum services. Social change is a dynamic process. When any section of the society, especially the weaker sections like Scheduled Castes/Tribes and women, has to be given the right to property and literacy and equality in the political process, it results in a radical change in social practices in a society where money has contributed. has maintained a 'formal character that is binding and effective' (Moss). In rural India, this would also mean breaking the 'Jajmani' system. Empowerment of women would pose a challenge to the 'patriarchal' structure of society in which property rights, especially land rights and literacy were regarded as the inheritance of the male members of the society.
Economic Empowerment
This means - ‘backward linkage’ and ‘forward linkage’, with both training and employment cum income generating activities. Its ultimate aim is to make the community economically independent and self-reliant. It also means that the economically weaker sections should be given such strength through policies that their poverty should be eradicated, their standard of living should be improved and they should be helped in creating assets.
Political Empowerment
Political empowerment refers to empowering individuals to set priorities of development that are most favourable to people, groups or society and the people themselves. In such a situation, the authority will move from ‘bottom to top’ and in that the matter of weaker sections will be given equal importance in the decision-making process.
Cultural Empowerment
Cultural empowerment is a complex field that revolves around the beliefs, values, language, arts and customs that characterize a society. It takes more time to change cultural ethos and cultural lag slows down the process of empowerment.
