Education has a unique role in all societies. It is only through education that culture is passed from one generation to another. Education to the citizens is provided through schools and many institutions outside the school, including families and monasteries. Education has a great impact in the early years of a child. The images and impressions that are put on the children in the school, at the same time mold the gender perception. The National Policy on Education formulated in 1986 has clearly stated that gender discrimination should be completely eliminated from the education system. Despite all this, the status and image of women and girls remains negative even today.
