Question- State the principles of structural approach.
Ans.
F.G. French had suggested the following principles of the structural approach :-
(i) Importance of the child's activity rather than the activity of the teacher.
(ii) Importance of speech for firmly fixing all ground work.
(iii) Importance of the formation of the language habit to arrange words in suitable English sentence-patterns in order to replace the sentence-patterns of the child's mother tongue.
