So each poem brings a special and exclusive message from the poet. Nevertheless, the following are the specific aims of teaching any poem :–
(i) To enable the students to read the poem with appropriate rhyme and rhythm.
(ii) To enable the students to understand the central idea of the poem.
(iii) To communicate the message of the poem to the students.
(iv) To enable the students to appreciate the poem.
(v) To enable the students about the grammatical deviations that the poet has taken.
