Question- How does CCE help in assessment in scholastic areas?

As a teacher it is important to develop abilities in students which can be classified into scholastic and co-scholastic areas. Scholastic areas cover activities in curricular or subject specific areas.

Scholastic areas include all those academic activities which are associated with various subjects. The term 'scholastic' refers to those activities which are related to intellect or the brain. It is related to the assessment of learners in curricular subjects. It includes assignments, projects, practicals etc. sometimes, these activities are associated with objectives of cognitive domain i.e., it is expected that students have to achieve objectives of cognitive domain in specific subject areas. In order to understand the learning outcomes, we need to align it with the Taxonomy of Educational Objectives. The objectives as identified by Bloom in the cognitive domain are as below :
(i) Knowledge, (ii) Comprehension, (iii) Application, (iv) Analysis, (v) Synthesis, (vi) Evaluation.

In order to achieve these objectives, a teacher has to ensure that a student participates in various activities associated with various subject areas.
