It is very important for teacher that he should help his students in developing writing skills because writing skill will be an important part of both their academic and professional lives. A teacher can help students in developing their writing skill if he has following two elements -

1. Tools, and 2. Activities.

Following teaching skills are required for developing writing skills -

1. Teacher should record students thoughts, observations and feeling in writing notebook or journals.

2. He should give a topic to help get them doing.

3. He can just let them to write freely.

4. Teacher should be capable in telling students that notebook is a place to incubmate thoughts.

5. He should tell students not to worry about producing good writing in their notebooks.

6. Teacher should tell them to just get views down on paper. Students can move things out of their notebooks and revise them to make them better.

7. Teacher should be able to teach vocabulary in a very physical and visual way.

8. A writing centre should be constituted by the teacher in the quiet corner of his classroom. Word-wall, and a writing centre help students develop their writing skills.

9. Teacher should arrange writer's workshop. He should taught writing through exlanation, modeling, and practice in all its varied forms. Writer's workshop demonstrates elements of writing.
