Curriculum : The word ‘curriculum’ is derived from a Latin word ‘currere’ is which means ‘to run’. So, “the curriculum means a course to be run for reaching a certain goal.

Cunningham gave an important place of curriculum in educational process with following words :-
“Curriculum is the tool in the hands of the artist (the teacher) to mould his material (the students) according to his ideals (aims and objectives) in his studies (the school).

According to the Secondary Education Commission, “Curriculum is much more than the boundaries by the academic subjects taught traditionally. It should include totality of experiences that students receive through the manifold activities that go on in the school, in the classroom, library, laboratory, workshop, playgrounds and in the numerous informal contacts between teachers and students. In this sense, the whole life of the school becomes the curriculum.”
