Audio-visual Aids: According to Joseph Weber, our perception about various things is based 40% on visual experiences, 25% on audio experiences, 17% on touch experiences and 3% on taste and smell experience, 15% on other physical experiences. If we want to carry out effective teaching of English, we will have to use such aids which the students can see, listen, touch, taste and smell or they can think about. Audio-visual aids work on the ears and eyes of the students, and hence they are called audio-visual. By giving aid to the ears and eyes, these help in making the impression of the lesson permanent on the mind. These include all means, devices, tactics like objects, models, machines, which a teacher uses to catch the eyes and ears of his students.
