बी.एड. सेमेस्टर-1 प्रश्नपत्र-IV-C - जेण्डर, स्कूल एण्ड सोसाइटी (अंग्रेजी भाषाा में)

Question- What are the main features of conservatism?

Answer -

Conservatism is an ideology of protection. It developed essentially as a reaction against the increasing pace of political and economic changes, especially in the West. This is one reason why any use of the word ‘conservatism’ opposes change. As a spectator it defends the values of hierarchy, tradition and order against the pressures created by industrialization and represents the political challenges of liberalism and socialism. Therefore, there is a fundamental difference between leftists and socialists, liberals and conservatives. Leftists and socialists are parties to the bureaucracy (ie radical communists); Liberals are in favour of the market and conservatives are in favour of tradition. Conservative ideology has its own peculiar characteristics - tradition and history, an attachment to prejudice and logic against human flaws, an organic society with freedom and inequality, an appreciation of power and power, a strong argument and policy for the rights to property and life. Conservatism is often seen as legitimizing the status quo and protecting the interests of the elite, in arguing against change of faith in thematic, moral and religious values. Concepts like gender justice will never discriminate with conservatives. Conservatism has not succeeded in developing into an ideology of worldwide importance. Conservatism in itself is very pervasive and to that extent, an ideology too vague that is radical today may not be the same tomorrow.
