बी.एड. सेमेस्टर-1 प्रश्नपत्र-IV-C - जेण्डर, स्कूल एण्ड सोसाइटी (अंग्रेजी भाषाा में)

Question- Describe the frameworks proposed by experts for gender analysis.

Answer -

Various Gender analysis frameworks have been developed by various Gender experts to carry out Gender related research, some of them are briefly described below:

Howard Analytical Framework and People-Oriented Planning: It is also known as Gender Roles Framework. It was published in 1985 AD. It was developed by the USAID’s W. The research was done by researchers from the Howard Institute of International Development U.S.A. in association with the ID (WID) office. Its purpose is to help policy planners design efficient programs based on the productive resources women and men hold, and the type of work women and men perform in the household and community. The framework has four components—the activity profile, the access and control framework, the influencing factors, and the lists needed for analysis.

People-Oriented Planning Framework: This framework has been developed for the analysis of refugee status; it was developed by Mary B. for the Joint High Commission for Refugee Women (UNHCRW). The purpose of this framework was to encourage the equitable distribution of resources and services among communities. The important factors that this framework places great emphasis on are the importance of change, participation and analysis.

Moser Framework: It was developed by Carolyn Moser at the Development Planning Unit of the University of London as a tool for gender analysis. Its objective was to introduce gender planning as a separate activity at different levels (national, provincial or regional). The goal of gender planning was to achieve equality, equity and empowerment for women in all walks of life (March et al, 1999).
