Question- Explain the physical development in childhood.

Answer-

Physical Development in Childhood

The physical development in childhood is of the following types:

  1. Weight : During childhood, the child grows substantially. By the age of 9 or 10, the weight of boys is more than that of girls. After that, the weight of the girl child becomes more.

  2. Size : The growth of the child in this stage is slow and uniform.

  3. Bones : In this stage, there is an increase in the number of bones in the first four to five years. The ossification of girls starts one year earlier than that of boys. As a result of ossification, the child starts to have complete control over the muscles.

  4. Muscles : With time, the child reaches the age of 8, the muscle mass becomes 27% of his total weight. The muscles of girls are more developed than that of boys.

  5. Teeth : When the child reaches the age of one year, his milk teeth start falling out. Then the permanent teeth come out. By the age of 12, about 28 permanent teeth have erupted. When the teeth erupt, a change in the face of the child is also visible.

  6. General Health : In this stage, the child participates more in sports and other activities. So in general, his health remains good.

  7. Head and Brain : There is a change in the shape of the head during childhood. The brain gets full development in terms of weight and size.

  8. Control Over Physical Movement : In this stage, the child is very active. All his parts have developed. As a result, he knows how to control physical forces and movements. He starts doing all the work according to his wish.
