Question- Explain the nature of development.
Answer-
According to Harlock, the nature of development has been explained by follows :
(1) Change in Size : This change is mainly visible in physical growth.
(2) Disappearance of Old Features : As the child grows, his old parts disappear.
(3) Change in Ratio : All the parts of the child do not grow equally. A new born’s head is large in proportion to other organs, but as the baby grow, it grows, relatively small in proportion to the entire body.
(4) Acquisition of New Features : With the disappearance of the former characteristics, new physical and mental abilities are acquired. Under the development of physical, the extraction of permanent teeth and under mental development, curiosity etc.
Explain the difference between development and maturity.
