बी.एड. सेमेस्टर-1 प्रश्नपत्र-I - फिलासफिकल पर्सपेक्टिव आफ एजुकेशन (अंग्रेजी भाषा में)

Question- "Education is a tri-polar aspect." Write a short note on it.

Answer -

Education is a Tri-Polar Aspect

John Adam in his book Evolution Theory opinionated that education is a bipolar process where acts of one part (more commonly known as educator) influences the other (more commonly known as educand). Bi-polar aspect in education ceases to exist when both educator and educand become one personality. This situation happens when educand takes matter into his/her hands and tries to educate himself/herself, modify his/her nature, develops his/her own personality, will and purpose and acquires knowledge and skill by his/her own efforts. This leads to unipolar stage where education system hits the bull's eye and self-motivations, self-improvement, self-control etc becomes traits of unipolar aspect.

In any education system, society plays a crucial role in the sociological and psychological development of both educator and educand. Both educator and educand are a part of society they live in and has to perform duties accordingly. So, educator has to mold the character of educand in such a way that he/she finds himself/herself fit for the society. Thus, sociological aspect, educator and educand categorised education as tri-polar aspect. This tri-polar aspect of education was supported by John Dewey who laid emphasis on the role played by schools. He concluded that both society and schools are complimentary to each other. Whatever we study in schools or colleges goes into the society and thus fulfillment of aims and methods depends upon the nature of the society and prevalent norms therein. Again, society can be molded to become a better place is solely dependant upon the education we receive from the schools or colleges.

Role of School in Society-

  1.

School is an establishment which aims at fulfilling the needs of the society and transferring cultural heritage to this and forthcoming generation. Schools make younger generation socially accepted. It provides better understanding and fulfilling of goals.

  2. School is in fact a image of society. It reflects both the needs and qualities of the society. So, studying in schools, one comes face-to-face with societal norms.

  3. School provides leaders and game changers who further manipulates society into becoming a better place worth living.

  4. School provides cultural heritage with necessary changements which in time remodels the existing transformation.

Thus, we can say that school plays a crucial role in establishing education as a tri-polar aspect. School’s education cater to the needs of the society. But in present scenario schools are loosing their dignity and they are becoming more profit or business oriented. Such adverse effects polluted the minds of students as well, they now have become profit oriented and less focus is given an ethics/culture etc. Schools are in fact game changers or teacher leading the society to achieve its goods and eliminate ill-effects of the society. To achieve this all the 3 aspects of education must come together.
