Question- Education is a Social and Dynamic Process. Explain this statement.

Answer -

Most of the educationists defined Education as a process and nearly all of them stress upon the dynamic nature of education. Following are some of the most used definitions of Education which indicates towards dynamic nature of education either directly or indirectly:

(1) In the words of J.S. Mackenzie, "In narrow sense, it may be taken to mean by any consciously directed effort to develop and cultivate our powers." Mackenzie describes Education as a process of which develop and cultivate our powers. Development and cultivation are not static entities but both are dynamic processes. Hence indirectly Mackenzie indicates about the dynamic nature of Educational process.

(2) In the words of Rousseau, "Life is education." It means education is a process which is associated with the whole life of a person. Life in itself is a journey full of joys and sorrows, ups and downs means motion.

(3) In the words of T. Raymont, "Education is defined as a process of development in which consists passage of human being from infancy to maturity, the process by which he adopts himself gradually in various ways to his physical, social and spiritual environment." Here also Raymont clearly indicates towards dynamic nature of educational process.

The above discussion clearly shows that education is a dynamic process which develops life.
