Question- What are the symptoms observed in student's in need of remedial teaching?

The students in need of remedial teaching observe one or more of the following symptoms: 

(i) Such student's usually have a poor memory. They fail to memorize the concepts. 

(ii) They have a short attention span and are easily distracted by other things. 

(iii) They have relatively poor comprehensive power. They lack the proper ability to comprehend things. 

(iv) They lack the motivation to learn. They either need intrinsic or extensive motivation or sometimes both. 

(v) They are relatively weaker in problem-solving. 

(vi) The fail to grasp information and mix up things easily. 

(vii) They have difficulty in understanding new/abstract concepts. 

(viii) They fail to transfer knowledge to the related learning areas appropriately. 

(ix) They need more time to complete assignments or tasks. 

Apart from various learning difficulties, pupils may have different abilities and styles of learning. Some are better in visual learning while others are more competent in audio-learning. Certain pupils have to learn through sense of touch or practical experiences. Remedial teachers, therefore, should design diversified teaching activities and adopt various teaching methods to help student's develop their potential and remove the obstacles in learning.
