There are seven types of grading systems available and they are as follows:

1- Percentage Grading: From 0 to 100%.

2- Letter grading and variations: From A grade to F grade.

3- Non-referenced Grading: This grading is performed by comparing students to each other usually by awarding letter grades.

4- Mastery Grading: This is the type of grading in which students are graded as masters or 'passes' when their attainment reaches a pre-specified level.

5- Pass/Fail: This is the commonest type of grading system in which the students are marked as 'Pass' or 'Fail'.

6- Absolute Standards Grading: This is the type of grading in which we compare the students performance to a pre-established standard (level) of performance.

7- Narrative Grading: This is the kind of grading in which we write comments for the students after observing them for the entire session.
