Question- What are the limitations / disadvantages of annual plan?

Though the advantages of annual planning are many there are some disadvantages too:

(i) Situations are quite dynamic in a school set-up. New or odd situations can crop up at any time. Hence, a teacher may find himself helpless in certain disise situations or sudden change of plan.

(ii) Sometimes, annual / yearly plan makes matter complicated simple matters get tricky when formulating objectives for a yearly plan and ensuring that those objectives are followed to the T.

(iii) If a teacher conceives the completion of a lesson / activities in a stipulated period of time but sometimes in reality more time is required to plan a lesson.

(iv) Teachers (more often buddy teachers) cannot work or teach independently as they are bound to abide by the lesson plan laid in.

(v) The yearly plan may also lack flexibility. The situations are more dynamic comparatively.

(vi) The plan sometimes makes the teaching process more difficult.

(vii) Planning may be used to serve individual interests rather than the interest of the enterprise.
