Gender discrimination refers to the gender inequality prevailing between boys and girls. Discrimination between boys and girls on the basis of their gender, due to which girls are kept in a lower position than boys in education and upbringing in the society, due to which they lag behind. Boys and girls are differentiated on the basis of their gender. This concept has been prevalent since ancient times that only by seeing the face of the living son one gets freedom from hell and many kinds of sins and the girl child has to be protected in every way. Therefore, the boy is superior and the pride of the clan and being responsible for carrying forward and illuminating the name of the family is more important than the girl child. Thus, discrimination on the basis of gender is called gender discrimination.
