This theory was supported by Thorndike. According to this theory, a person studies two similar task, experiences etc. the more those subjects help him in the study. This principle believes that a person should study more and more subjects related to each other so that when he is on another subject, he does not have to work too hard. Ex. - civics knowledge helps in the study of sociology. On the other hand not in the study of geography or mathematics, if there is the greater this similarity in the content of the two subjects, so there will be the greater the possibility of transfer.
