Laws of Learning

Laws of learning can be explained as under -

1. Law of Readiness : Law of readiness says that learning can only take place when a student is ready to learn. When a student is ready to learn, he will learn more effectively and with greater satisfaction then when not ready.

2. Law of Exercise : If a person repeats something, the better he will be able to retain that knowledge.

3. Law of Effect : Law of effect provides three things -

(i) Learning is strengthened when associated with a satisfying feeling. Learning will be more likely to happen again.
(ii) Learning will be weakened when associated with an unsatisfying feeling becoming less likely for learning.
(iii) Learning occurs when it results in satisfaction and the learner derives pleasure.

4. Other Laws : Some other law of learning are as under -

(i) Law of recency.
(ii) Law of primacy.
(iii) Law of intensity etc.
