Following are the Humanist elements in Buddhist Philosophy of Education:

1. Buddhist education lays maximum emphasis on Moral education of an educand. Dhamma, the central principle of Buddhist is not so much a religious but a moral principle.

2. Scholars from all over the world, belonging to different nationalities and religions thronged Buddhist universities for education. Thus, International understanding was the core of Buddhist education.

3. The medium of Buddhist education was Pali, the popular language. This helped in universalization of education.

4. Buddhist education includes earning livelihood and practical knowledge among worldly objectives of education.

5. Buddhist education had a wide-based curriculum including both theoretical and practical science, and arts besides literature.

6. Buddhist education was open to females. Many illustrations show that women widely propagated Buddhism in foreign countries.

7. Buddhist education was open to all classes, castes, sexes and nationalities. Backward classes also benefitted by it. Buddhism made no distinction between Hindu Varnas.

8. High qualification both theoretical and moral made the Buddhist teacher great.
