The choice of textbooks also involves philosophy. The text books must cater to the needs of an ideal life. So it is indisputably a fact that philosophy has its role in the choice of textbooks.

The views make it sufficiently clear that educational philosophy is an Applied Philosophy. The educator, however, is not a person who pursues knowledge for his own sake. His activities lie within the sphere of what Aristotle termed the practical sciences, and he looks to philosophy to provide him with principles so that he can place his work on a sound basis. The educand on the other hand becomes reasonable, critical and just, being influenced by philosophy. He gets a clear idea about himself and the world around him. Philosophy is not a blind man’s search of a black cat in a dark chamber. It is rather the intellectual search of an educated person for the attainment of a definite goal. There is no escape from the philosophy of life. Even those who disregarded philosophy have their own philosophy.
