Question- What role of teacher should be in establishing close relation in school and society?

Answer -

Role of Teacher in Establishing Close Relations
in School and Society

Education is a foundation on which an ideal society depends. An educated society generates an ideal society. Uneducated people cannot make the ideal society, and in this context teacher acquires top place. In the view of some scholars there are three parts of school education - teacher, student and society. There is found close relations between school and society. Development of the citizens depends on the teachers who teach in the schools. Due to it society establishes schools to fulfill its socio-economic and political needs, and teachers keep and maintain society through their activities.

 

Teacher helps in developing the mental, moral and social power of the students, and they become capable in facing the challenges of life. Society considers the schools as a means of its development.

 

Role of school and teachers is very important in the education. Most of activities of the school are conducted by the teachers. Teacher can create a new environment in the school for the multifaceted development of the students and such ideal and healthy students become good citizens of the country and they make a better society. Role of teacher in establishing close relations in school and society can be explained as under -

  1. Recommendation to change the Curriculum – Teacher should recommend that syllabus should be changed in accordance with the changed needs of the society.

  2. Overall Development of the Students – Teachers should pay attention on the physical, mental and emotional development of the students. For it teachers are required to develop truth, non-violence, co-operation and sympathy. Thus, teacher can help in making citizens having strong character.

  3. Providing Knowledge of Values and Traditions – Teachers should give knowledge to students regarding the social values and traditions. For it religious, national, educational, cultural programmes should be organised in the schools and students should be encouraged to participate in these.

  4. Parents-Teachers Meeting – PTA can be helpful in the development of the society. PTA increases mutual co-operation.

  5. Exhibition of Films which Encourage National Patriotism – Teachers should exhibit films which encourage national patriotism in the students. Conference of renowned persons should also be organised.

  6. Encouragement for Participating in Social Education – Teachers should encourage students to participate in the social education. In addition to it, teachers should go in the villages and should arrange educative lectures, play and drama and other cultural programmes. It will improve sweet relations between society and schools.

  7. Group Discussion, Workshop and Conference – Teachers should organize group discussion, workshop and conference in the school. These programmes will bring teachers and students close.

  8. Social Service Schemes – Teachers should make effort to ensure the participation of students, in social service schemes.

  9. Survey of Different Areas – Teachers are the true guides of the students. So, teachers should guide the students to keep ready himself for socio-economic survey and to diagnose the problem.

  1. Development of 'We' Feeling – Teachers should conduct literacy, social education schemes. Such type of schemes will develop ‘We’ feeling.

  2. Other Suggestions – In addition to above following suggestions can also be produced for establishing close relation between school and society –
    (i) Making arrangement of culture and rules.
    (ii) Development of social life in the society.
    (iii) To organize various sports and games, tournaments etc.
