1. Active Agencies: Active agencies of education means those means in which both the giver of education and the recipient of education directly react.

Thus, the active resource is a kind of bipolar process in which both the teacher and the learner are involved. Teachers influence the child with their personality. Therefore, both the giver and the learner influence each other in this. Active agencies of education are home schools, religious institutions, societies, states, social welfare centers, etc.

2. Passive Agency: A passive agency is an agency in which there is no place for action and reaction. Those instruments affect the learners but the learners themselves have no effect on them like the radio affects the listeners but the listeners have no effect on them. Thus, in passive agency, one side remains active and the other passive. Examples of passive resources include radio press, television, movies, newspapers, etc.
